It hits right around my hip and fits like my large purse so it works great for shopping. I had it at the grocery store once (before I knew you weren't supposed to) and no one noticed anything different. Same with the fabric store here. I talked to several associates while carrying Riley in it, and they never knew I had her with me until I set it on the counter to pay... and she made a noise. 'Course then they had to see her!
