Lacy did this to a section of my carpet when she was a puppy. She was my first dog and I tried just letting her run loose in the house at first as a puppy. Obviously that didn't work, and I got a crate. Once I started crate training, everything became better. Chewing up the carpet is something you need to train your dog not to do. Don't blame the puppy's bad behavior on him..it is your job to train him. You need to keep him in a crate or X-pen when not home or when you can't supervise him while you are at home. If you're supervising your dog you will immediately be able to correct him if he starts to do something he shouldn't.
BTW LOVE his name! So cute!
