Please hire someone to come to your house and let Tanner out during the day. He should not be crated that long. It's really going to result in a problematic dog, and it's such a sad life for a dog to be crated 20hours a day. I know where I live there is a great pet sitter that charges $16. I've only used her to take care of my cats while I'm out of town, but it's a great option if I ever need someone to walk Lacy for me if for some reason I have to leave her at home longer than I thought. I'm sure you can find someone who will come to your house and let Tanner out to potty and play with him a while. He's never going to be potty trained the way things are going now. Dogs don't train themselves. And he's really going to have some socialization issues as he gets older being alone as much as he is...especially during this critical time in his life. If you're determined to keep this baby, please do all you can to give it a quality life.
