Yes, I put Mugzy in bed with me and crate trained him both. SO, at night he would come in bed. If he got up (I sleep light) I'd take him outside. If it happened too many times, I'd stick him in the crate because I need sleep too
But, after the first few weeks, he really didn't get up. Now for the crate, I'd usually use it around bedtime. I'd put him in it when I got my shower (and take the crate in with me), for a few minutes before bedtime, etc. so he got used to it. I really only use it though when we go to church because most of the time someone's home. I keep his crate next to my bed anyway, so he can see me, hear me, etc.
