We brought them back and I put them in their room after the ate (so we can go and eat) and I left some Eukanuba out for them. When I got back I noticed TJ licking his leg, I thought maybe a piece of rice was stuck, but it seemed to be a combo of dry food and rice, so I think maybe he threw up. Of course there was NO OTHER evidence (if he did throw up, he and maybe she ate it again). But they were fine that night. I slept in the room again and heard no problems . When I came home from work on Monday, TJ had left poop (and it was a little soft with a tiny bit of diarrhea, BUT NO MUCUS :-) and the color has returned to dark (it had been very light). On my way home from work, I stopped to buy Innova for puppies. I fed some to them along with a tiny bit of boiled chicken and they really seemed to like it. No throw and No diarrhea. They played like normal and drank a good amount too. I gave them both baths and really worked in the oatmeal shampoo (they have been sratching a lot). They slept good through the night and pooped in the morning. TJ's poop was very soft, I had to wash his butt. They had their nutrical and then a little chicken and the Innova dry food. TJ did do a little cough (3x in a row) before I left for work. I really hope that that thing he had been doing: gagging kinda, trying to swallow and the dry heave throw up isn't going to turn out to be Kennel Cough. B/c then I guess Roxy has it too...So I guess I have to see what awaits me when I get home today and I will just continue to monitor them. Do I have to gradually stop the Eukanuba or can I just stop giving it to them and just use the Innova? If they have Kennel Cough is the cough suppose to be all the time and really harsh? |
Im glad that they seem to be doing better. When you switch to a different food you need to do it gradually and mix a portion of the old one with a portion of the new one. If you do it too fast they can have tummy problems. If they are still having soft poopies you can comtinue the rice and boil chicken. Also you should contact your vet to have them check out. Regarding the kennel cough, you can read this info on
Kennel Cough.Good luck. Please keep us posted how your little furbabies are doing.
