Default some advice

I certainly am no expert as well, but I'll tell you I was scared as heck! When my kissess started going into labor, I noticed she wasn't making much of a fuss really. She just laid there and pushed as hard as she could. She was thirsty throughout so I kept on giving her water and wiping her head with a wet wachloth so she wouldn't get too warm. After the first pup came out, she started to eat the placenta at a very rapid rate. She would burts open the sack and chewed as if she knew she had to get the pup out of there quick. It scared me somewhat becuase It almost looked like she was going to eat a paw! I just watched with a flashlight and let her do all of the work. Mother nature knows best really. There was one incident where I lightly pulled a pup away from her becuase she was really going at it, and I was sure she was going to eat a paw, but she was just trying her best to get them out quick. I was lucky becuase there were no complications and her labor was almost effortless. it took a total of 3 hours or so for her to have all 4 pups. There wasn't alot of blood either. So really I was lucky. If she is close to you like mine is to me, then I think its okay to help. But you really have to know your Dog. Mine trusts me unconditionaly. I take her to the stores with me, she sleeps with me, bathes with me. Its trust. If you have this with your pup help! If you dont then just let her be and just look for complications. You can usually tell if there is something wrong. Go with your gut! Again...I am no expert. Hope this hels a bit
