I'm going camping in August to Sequoia, and I'm taking Chloe with us. I'm really looking forward to it. We're staying at the same campsite we've been to the past 3 years, so I already know it will be perfect for her.
What I plan to do to make sure she doesn't wander away from camp (it is black bear territory) is put her on a long tie out. That way she can move about the whole campsite, but I won't have to worry about her running off somewhere. She sleeps in her crate, so we'll just bring it and she can sleep in her crate in the tent.
Great idea about the camping vest. I think I"ll make her a camoflage dress or something "rugged" looking yet still fufu!
