if cody is playing, it's nearly impossible to tell if he has to go outside. We've only had him a week so it's hard to tell, but sniffing around either means he's exploring, looking for his bed, or looking for a place to pee. If he's sleeping, he'll sometimes get really restless and tries to keep sleeping but will keep opening his eyes and flopping all around on his bed trying to get comfortable. If we're holding him, he'll just go nuts all of a sudden. Now, each of these things make us take him outside, and sometimes he goes and sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes when he doesn't go, he'll be good when we come back inside and sometimes he pees. When he's in his crate, he'll sometimes cry to go outside- but that can mean he's sick of being in his crate, has to go pee, or already has had an accident in his crate. So who knows?
(we really like it when we can tell he has to go, but just flops down in the grass and stares at us- then squats down the minute he's back inside or in his crate
