WHOA! Slow down a second!!! I agree with you...papers are very important to me and even if I didn't breed, I would send off for mine. But from a couple of polls that were done on THIS forum, a majority of people would 1) buy AKC and 2) wouldn't necessarily register the papers and many felt they were not important. So, with that being said, that is why I answered the way that I did...going with the majority here but not necessarily MY views.
