I was thinking ear mites too. My Alyssa had ear mites when we got her caused by fleas. He scratched and scratched and rubbed her head on the floor to scratch even more. My vet discovered them when we went for our first check up. He showed me what they look like under a microscope. They are nasty little critters. We got drops to put in both ears once a day. That helped and she has not had ear mites again. Oh, by the way...I think floppy ears on yorkies are cute and it gives them part of their personality.
