If it doesn't go away from the tape and neosporin doesn't soon heal it, it could be ear mites. If it's mites, there's usually brown wax inside the ear. They'll scratch inside their ears like crazy and taping them makes it sooo much worse. You can actually clean her ear goop and place it on black construction paper and see the mites, they're white little bugs. Gross I know. If he has lots of brown goop, you should take him to the vet for diagnosis whether or not you see them. He/she will need medication.

If you have a contract that states you have 72 hours to get your dog to the vet, do it within that time frame and ask her to pay for that medicine. The breeder shouldn't mind if it's within that time frame. HTH
