Honestly I am not sure what is right for them in this situation. If she wont entertain your idea I guess it it what it is.
My recomendation is...
See if you and her can work out an arangment for visits and such, playdates and sleepovers. Or you could just tell her how you feel, in the most non perswasive way. Maybe, just maybe she will understand if in fact she goes for your idea.
