Initially I thought the same thing about a dog not intentionally starving themselves but then Eury started to show signs of low-blood sugar so the vet gave us Nutri-cal and instructed us to try and make sure she eats regularly. Mind you she LOVES cat food (even tried putting a small bit on top of her food) but refuses to eat it when it's touching dog food she doesn't want. The hand feeding isn't even all that successful except when we "trick" her to eat. The biggest success we had was today, I picked up a new kind of food with real chunks of meat and she ate 1/2 a can, ie she ate the chunks and left the rest. *shaking head*
