Hey Paul! Avatars are tricky, but if you're getting a error on picture size that's easy to correct. My software has "Image" on the toolbar. When I click on that I go to "Resize". I use that to reduce the picture to below the max size allowed for the avatar. Then just save it. Hope that helps.
