I wash mine about 1 /once a week . They don't stink up my place.
When I used the disposable pads I could not leave them down for 5-6 days because I deffinately smelled the urine by then. These are more absorbant than that so you don't have to switch so often.It really depends on how much they pee on it. I have three dogs ranging in weight of 6 lbs,3 lbs and 2.75 lbs. They all got used to it pretty quickly.
