morgan is 4lbs and we go to the dog park. She's smaller then all the other dogs there and is totally submissive to them. People as me if i'm scared of her getting hurt and usually i'm not. When we first go there i let her run free but i follow her constantly as she goes from dog to dog to see how they react to her. And when a new dog comes in i check them out first as well. If i think they are going to be a problem then i pick her up until the new dog calms down from first entering. She's only had one "bad" experience at one dog park that we dont go to anymore. A westie pinned her dog and scared the crap out of her, but 5 minutes later she was back in that dogs face.
Your not a bad parent for taking your dog to the park. I'd continue to go if i were you. We still do even if we get comments from other people.
