This is true, but there are a lot of authentic things out there, too.
I bought an authentic Louis Vuitton wallet for $10 on eBay. The listing said "I don't know if it's real or not" so not many people bid on it. But I thought it was great either way, so I bought it.
When it got here I took it to a Louis Vuitton boutique & asked them if it was real or not, they said it was & ordered me a new certificate of authenticity.
