OMG, I am so happy their safe...I would have been scared to death. Weird about the gate though, sure makes you wonder. I have a fenced in yard too, have done the same thing many times...But the good thing is Winston won't run away. If he's loose he just lays down, thank goodness. Give them all an extra hug and kiss, so they know you're happy their home safe and sound. Now about that drink...
