Oh, and I wanted to say that Lacy is almost 3 years old and I've never had her anal glands expressed. Dogs normally naturally express them when they poop that it's not something that has to be done. Only if your dog's anal glands won't express themselves or there starts to be problems with the anal glands do they need to be expressed. A lot of groomers do this routinely, but I won't ever have my dog's expressed unless there is a problem. I have heard though that once you start expressing them, you have to keep doing it. I think you probably are doing it too often though. I don't think I would do it more than once a month
