I agree with jrsygal37 and drawlins...My yorkie has liver shunt/mvd and he had those problems that you described as a pup...We asked the vet for a
bile acid test, but she said she did not want to do one as it was not necessary...Well, he was symptom-free for about 3 months, and I just wanted peace of mind, so I made an appointment with a different vet for the bile acid test...The Sunday before his appointment, he had a terrible seizure...They had a hard time getting the seizures to stop. We could have lost him...When we took him to the vet and they ran all the bloodwork, they found that he indeed did have liver problems...It's better to know now...And if it turns out that he has a healthy liver, then great!! You paid $45 for peace of mind
