I saw that same show where the trainer recommended using the bike horn. My two love to bark at anything that moves, and the doorbell drives them nuts. I've been using the water spray bottle and it worked for awhile, but now it's like, "Yawn, she's got the water bottle again."
I'm gonna buy a bike horn and hope for the best!
