I am from South Africa and we see daily how construction is taking up what use to be Natural Bush enjoy it while you can. You will not know what it means until it is gone..maybe fence off a safe area for the little ones....Snakes will move if there is high activity in the area, so they should not be a problem..a fence will keep the other things out...GOOD LUCK
