Love General update on Pixie, Bogey, Angel, and Cinnamon Snow

So, I've been really out of touch lately. Lots has been going on, and we've had to be really active lately in rebuilding our house. We're down to interior decorating and we've been doing everything from picking out colors, fans, lights, and mantle to picking out floors, cabinets, and counter-tops.

And this is on top of being a Mom, wife, doggyparent, law student, etc. Whew.
Anyway, our house is almost rebuilt and we'll be moving in about 1-2 weeks (YIPEE!) I absolutely can't wait to go home. I never dreamed that morning with Baby Caddo would be our last morning home for months.

Speaking of Baby Caddo, I *know* everyone wants to know how my crew is doing!

Pixie finally got herself healthy enough and off steroids long enough to get spayed. She got her stitches out today, and you have no idea how relieved we were that she made this spay appointment after having to postpone the last... how many? We lost count. But she is doing extremely well. She'll be having her other knee surgery soon - that's scheduled for June 28th, tentatively. We'll have to wait until closer to time to see that she's actually healthy enough to be put under again. And that's a good time, too, since we'll be moving the 29th and 30th - she will be in a kennel recuperating and won't be running around for us to have to worry about. After the next knee surgery, we are *hopefully* done with surgeries for a while. This will be her 4th in less than a year. She's definitely the golden dog... But very loved and spoiled and loving every minute of it!

Bogey is also doing wonderfully. He's totally healthy (what a nice change from Pixie!) and is learning to enjoy some of the nicer things in life... like car rides. He is enrolled in beginner training classes to begin August 1st, but we've already started at home - he loves to learn and I think he'll love doing agility, too. He loves to run around outside and jump over stuff and walk on the little brick wall and run up and down the stairs. He's all puppy (yes, at over 2 yrs old), and if he will enjoy it, I may do agility with him in the future.

I've also kept up with Angel. Matter fact, I called today to check on her. She is doing WONDERFUL. Oh, and her foster mom and dad are absolutely in love with her and think she's a sweet little angel. I told them yes, that's why we named her that! She is going in on Thursday for shots (since we aren't sure if she's really up to date), heart worm test, spay, and dental. They're also going to start heart worm prevention (assuming she doesn't have them). Her foster mom says that she's very happy and seems to be very healthy. She loves the dog door, too - she runs in and out all the time. And she's potty trained, she takes herself on out when she needs to go. They also decided since she's staying for a while, it's time to get her very own food bowl. They went to a pet store and found a food dish that says "Angel" and had some other cute stuff on it - they said they walked right up to it and said, "Well, this is it! It was meant to be!" I have *not* gone to see her yet, but one of these days, I will have to. I also let them know that they are still invited to the yorkie meet next Saturday, but since Angel is having all that work done on Thursday, Angel can't go even if her foster mom does.

And of course... by now you're asking, "Who's Cinnamon Snow?" Well see, my daughter lost her cat due to the house burning and such. We told her that when she came home, she could have whatever she wanted to replace her cat - another cat, a dog, whatever. She decided on a dog. At first she wanted a yorkie (which is when I stumbled on Angel - I was keeping a look out for a good dog for her), then she decided she wanted a brown fluffy dog but didn't have to be a yorkie, then she saw a picture and fell in love. We were looking in the classifieds, and there was a picture of a jack russell/pomeranian litter... she pointed to one of the short haired WHITE dogs and said "THAT'S IT! That's the dog I want!" Yeah, right, I thought - she'll get there and fall for the fluffy one... but nope, she got there and immediately picked out the one she'd seen in the picture and informed me that's the one she wanted. The dog's dad is a jack russell, mom's a pomeranian (I may have those backwards), but either way: she looks just like a jack russel, solid white, with 2 cinnamon spots on her head. Oh, and pom ears that stick up and a pom tail that curls. Maggie named her Cinnamon Snow. I'll have to show pictures someday.... In the meantime, Cinnamon Snow has gone for her checkup, and she's almost totally healthy. She has an inverted vulva, but that should fix itself in time. She is also registered to start beginning training in August (with Bogey).

My husband's pug will be coming back when we move back into the house and have the yard for him. Things are going well here, just really busy.
Hope ya'll know I haven't forgotten you!
