I also don't wouldn't use a time-out that's longer than a minute or two - unless, of course, *I* needed the break in order to keep my cool.

Joey rarely needs more than redirection or an opposing command (ie "down-stay" if he's begging, "drop it" if he's chewing on something he shouldn't have, "get your toy" if he's being hyper, etc).
