Brandice, How old is your Yorkie? I don't want to alarm you but this could indicate liver shunt. A couple of years ago my Bella acted this way and I did not know what was wrong. It was late at night and I rushed her to the Emergency Vet Hospital. They did blood work right away and as we waited for the results she snapped out of it and seemed better. The blood work showed elevated liver enzymes very elevated. We were advised that it was either a poisoning of some sort or it could be liver shunt. We followed up with our vet the next day and Bella spent the day at his office for testing. It turned out to be a spider bite. She had been outside right before to go potty and got bitten by a spider, but our vet did say that up to two years old they can develop or rather show signs of the liver shunt. I'd really look into it further. It's not normal for her to do this and the next time she may not snap out of it. I wish you the best and welcome to YT. Elaine |
