I had this same worry.... They have these collars now that you can put on your dog and it is a gps system that tells you where your dog is at all times... The only problem is, these are made for big dogs and are very bulky and with yorkies being so popular and cute I would doubt anyone would want to turn them in if they found one so most people would just take the collar off... Anyway I asked my Vet if they make a gps chip that can be embeded into the dog (like a micro chip) I know these excist and they can do it to a human but they are very hard to come by and illegal... Anyway, these little gps trackers are about the same size as a microchip and someone that found your pup and intended to keep him/her would never know it was there until you showed up at their front door... Anyway my vet said that they are infact researching this idea for dogs and cats and other pets and we soon might see something like this no the market... (no idea how much this would cost but i would probably spend it if it insured that my baby could never be lost or stolen) |
