I've used the same bottle of Fooey for the last three years now. Our pug was a chewer and licker. One shot of the Fooey and he was done. Sophie is chewing now and she hates the stuff. Stand back....I don't think you should spray it while they are right in the area because I accidentally inhaled some of the after mist (for lack of a better word) of the spray and I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth for a while. I think it is more effective if they experience the spray on the object you are deterring them from rather than deterring them from an entire area
