That is horrible. I hope things get better for you. We bought our first house 7 months ago but we bought it as is because it was a foreclosure. We had some leaks and just remodeled our bathroom/laundry room downstairs. Changed all the pluming to PVC pipes.....and did it all on our own with the help of the home depot 123 plumbing book. We bought all the books and I can say they are handy. You might want to look into that....plumbers are expensive!!
Now with the electrical problem I would say to stay with the electrician...I don't play with electric
We get our electric work done free because my fiancees best friend is a electrician.
