I actually got lulu some cute stainless steel bowls with decorations on the outside instead of the usual silver. I opted for that because in the past we have broken a number of ceramic bowls and with three children running around it would get broken often. So I am not sure what the activity level is in your house but you can definitely find some pretty stainless steel ones.
