I have always had large breed dogs (great danes) and would love to have one again. but I am actually just scared at this point...maggie is just too little. and she is nearly 5 lbs. you have a tiny baby. I would be very careful in your selection. Maybe you can get a rescue that is already full grown and not so hyper. The larger dogs may be super sweet but when they are puppies, simply playing can lead to a tragic accident. and it just isn't worth that risk. I have heard that German Shephards are very gentle and great with smaller dogs...but again. as a puppy, they don't realize how big they are and can do some serious damage.

whatever you do, just keep a close eye on her
