Now that's an interesting reply from that breeder that has that website. As I understand it, under the AKC, a breeder is not allowed to charge more for registration.
And registration fees in AKC are pretty nominal, it would only cost her the litter registration as AKC will allow her to give the new owner the individual dog regsitration to complete and submit to AKC. Why would she think she needs another $1000 on top of way too much for these pups.
