Default Floppy Ears

I wanted a yorkie so it seemed important at the time to make sure mine had ears that stood up because that's the breed. So, when Chloe's ears flopped back down, I tried various ways to get them up, clipping hair, sprinkling calcium on food, tape. Whether any of this worked or not I don't know but her ears did come up. Lacey's ears were up and stayed up. I agree that it seems floppy ears might encourage infections but for those that have floppy ear dogs without a problem, then that's great. I think I made it too important, it wasn't like I wanted a show dog.
