I think the problem with yorkie owners is that the dog is so cute that people do forget that it is, in fact a dog. He goes everywhere because you give him the run of the roost. He doesn't even sleep in his own area, he sleeps with you. I would suggest you crate train him. He should never, I mean never, be able to walk around the house by himself ever, it should be 100% supervision. When he is fully trained, that is when you can give him the run of the roost. Right now though he's not trained or even training so he goes wherever.
He should spend most of his life at this point in a crate. Also if you fed him on a schedule you would even have an idea of when he had to go. Crate training and feeding schedule absolutely was the way to go for my wife and I. Most of the time we can just say "go potty" and she will go to her pad and go. Train him now for years of enjoyment, otherwise it will be years of frustration and cleaning up poop and pee.
