For what it is worth, if you are not feeding your Yorkie Dry dog food (and even if you are) tartar buildup is a big problem. You should be brushing Yorkie's teeth several times a week and watching closely for tartar as it reaches the gum line. I brush Bailey's teeth almost daily and have since he was a puppy and he is 4 years old, has great teeth but is just about due for his first cleaning. There is a real danger in small breeds developing problems requiring extraction of teeth.
