  If you purchased this dog you would not be able to register the pups with AKC no matter what the female was registered in. The offspring would never be able to be shown to prove their worth. Why would you want to start a breeding program with anything less than the best known and most respected  registry? If you are going to be a breeder than get the best AKC stud that you can to be your foundation stud, your future line depends on it. The future of our breed is depending on us, we must take it seriously.
