If it wasn't aggressive toward your boyfriend, it was probably a safe snake. I would think that even yorkies would know the signs nature offers of whether the snake was a threat or not. But I don't know. I'd be worried too, because we get rattlers a lot.

I'm a snake lover though, so when I see one, I just catch him, keep him for a few days, feed him, take a few pictures, and release him. Sometimes I'll keep them for pets, but even though I'm learning how to milk venom, I haven't succeeded in convincing my family to let me keep a pet rattlesnake.

Anyway, if you see another snake, take a picture, and post it on here and I'll tell you whether to be concerned or not.
