I have three picky girls, a maltese, a porkie, and a yorkie...all under 10 lbs. They are all such picky eaters and were eating Little Cesear wet food with kibbles and bits mini bites, though half of the time, I threw the food away after a day of it sitting here, they just didnt eat it. I wasted so much money at .69 cents a can for the Cesears, that was over $2 a day. Then the scare with the tainted food and reading some posts on here and I thought what the heck. I dont have any little kids to cook for or that busy a schedule...I dont mind cooking for them.
So about three weeks ago I began feeding them either ground beef, chicken or turkey with rice or oatmeal and Vitamoist gravy mixed in. They seemed to love it and ate better than they ever did with the dog food, however they still are very picky...Problem is, I am leaving on a 10 day trip in 2 weeks and when I realized this, I started to try and put them back on the Cesears because there is no way my husband will cook for these dogs....he thinks it is ridiculous. I tried to go back to the Cesear by itself and they went two days without touching it...so then I have tried mixing in people food gradually with some of the Cesear...and again, if there is too much dog food, they wont touch it.
I am so worried. What can I do now? Is is true they will eat the dog food if they are hungry? I am so sorry I ever started his people food thing, but now it is a little late and I am so scared about what they will do when I am gone. I know this is so silly to non dog lovers out there,but I hope you will understand. I just dont know what to do. please give me some suggestions.
