There's nothing wrong with good quality canned food - it's only the junk that's bad for their teeth. I brush my dogs' teeth anyway. We feed Merrick canned (Wingaling), Innova Evo and we used to feed Canidae but picky Sammy decided not to eat it. Loki probably misses it because it is awesome food.
I thought you said you got this dog from a wonderful breeder? A good breeder would not feed Ol Roy.
