I have owned a Prius for 2 years and I love it. I average about 50 miles per gallon. There is a trick to learning to drive these to get maximum fuel economy, but you will learn fast. Keep this in mind. My tank only holds 10-11 gallons and I go 400-500 miles on a tank. Each time I fill up, even at the highest gast prices, I don't seem to exceed $25.00. I also got a big tax credit for buying a hybrid. In addition, I am exempt from vehicles emissions testing in my state. The Prius also has lots of extra safety features that give me a break on my car insurance. There are lots more things to think about than MPG, including the impact of the zero emissions on our environment. My Prius has been trouble free so far. It's very comfortable on long trips and has lots of interior space. With the back seats and front passenger seat folded down, you can haul most anything in it. PM me if you want more info.
