My little Dublin does this mostly in the night. He wakes up several times a night, stands up and hacks like a cat trying to expel a fur ball. He doesn't seem to get upset about it and goes right back to sleep. Otherwise he seems active, happy and healthy, (although a bit itchy, but that's another thread, isn't it! ).

It started a few days after I got him, and when I took him to the vet, they gave him Clavamox for 10 days thinking it might be kennel cough. It seemed to have let up a bit, but 3 weeks later, he's still doing it.

What I want to know, is how to tell the difference between kennel cough, collapsed trachea and reversed sneezing? Do they all sound / react the same? Is it just something you have to guess at, or are there certain symptoms for each ?

As far as I know, he's never had a collar on or had any accidents that might have hurt his little neck...
