Hhmmm...... my main computer is a Mac. It has a built in "capture" utility called "Grab", which allows you to capture the screen, a window or just a selection (eg. just that picture you had labelled in Word.) You then save it in whatever format you want. See my example below - I did a random "selection" from a web page describing the utility I mention next.
On a PC, there are seperate applications that do the same thing, like "Better Screenshots". See it here:

I use these type of applications because of their simplicity and "one-step" instant results....
