How big is the female?? How big is the Sire???
How big are there parents , grand parents ..etc.
If there is a bigger dog in the dam or sire's lines she could have a throw back of a larger pup that could cause a problem.
Any size dog may run in to a problem and need to have a C-section for many different reasons.
Alot will also depend on the size of pelvis area.
The only way to know if she could/might have a problem is with
an X-Ray closer to her due date.
They can see the size of the pups in relation to the size of the pelvis area.
You will also know how many puppies to expect.
He may think she will need a C-section if her hips/pelvis area is really small.
If you are not comfortable with him, I think I'd be looking for a different Vet that deals more with breeders of small dogs. |
