You're very normal folks. My 3 kids are grown but not married. The way I see it, my husband and I won't see grandchildren for many years and somehow when Ralphie was given to us by my daughter 5 yrs ago, we felt "This is our first grandchild. How lucky we are! So what if our 'grandchild' has 4 legs and fur!" We have 3 other dogs too living with my daughter in her apartment here but no one is like my Yorkie. Ralphie has been the most loving and caring baby of all our children, no backtalk, eats what he's given, no complaints, protects us, and gives us unconditional love for sure!
In fact, my husband and I were so crazy as young parents that we heard it was not wise to let your babies sleep in bed with you, even though we did for awhile. However, Ralphie rules our bed and honestly, after 32 years of marriage, I'd rather sleep alone with Ralphie and smell his morning breath than my hubby's! Is that normal??????
