Yorkiewhipped..... I don't know if it's the Yorkies or YT that's creating the middle age spread???
When I had the brain injury in 1999 I was unable to do alot on my own. I had double vision or no vision in my left eye and my balance was nil so I could not ride my bike anymore. So, after talking to our wonderful groomer, she taught me to groom my own dogs. I sat with her for hours just watching her. I was lucky to have Maggie who was a noodle dog and would just lay on the table and let me practice on her. Then there was Rocky who (after I lost Jack I didn't think I could love another dog) stole my heart the min he was born (tail first, my little breech baby). Then Sunnie the "she devil". They got me through when i was at my worst. Yes, I gained weight. But they were the best therapy for my mind that I could have had. I got better for awhile but now I'm in a period of loss again. The only thing that seems to help keep my mind working is YT & the dogs. But there's always hope. My dr is sending me to the Memory Clinic here in Muskegon at the hospital and they're going to try and help me find myself again.
I truly believe that there is something special about the breed. They are so focused & tenacious. When I'm in a "lost" state they surround me and I feel grounded. I am truly blessed to have them in my life. |
