I did NOT go and look at the story...I knew I did not want to see it just from your descriptions.
On a better note though, my daughter lives in Oxford, MS. Her vet from there ran a "pet caravan" right after Katrina. I did not even have dogs then and it warmed my heart. Several area vets and locals formed a caravan of trucks, cars, suvs, and minivans stocked with donated crates and food and headed south. They brought back as many pets as they could (several trips). Many of the locals in the Oxford area turned out to show support by helping with animal upkeep, walking, cleaning, etc. I am happy to say that almost all pets were placed back with their owners. The others are living high on the hog in Mississippi!!!!
