Default How I am training

We started with the puppy pads too. We have a dog play pen set up in the kitchen. It isn't very large (I keep it in a rectangular size). I put the litter box where I had the puppy pads, her little bed is at the other end with food and water in between. After she eats, or plays hard, I say let's go potty, I put her in it and she goes. I reward her with a tiny part of a treat. Now she is actually going and waits for her treat! We got her on May 18 and I am now keeping another litter box outside of her play pen area. She is actually going there on her own. I bought the clumping cat litter first, which is great. Once she eliminates, I scoop it up and get rid of it. I am also trying "Yesterday's News". This is a pellet type, it works too, but I don't like it as well. The clumping kind is really nice, but she does track a little of it onto the floor. Oh well, I don't mind vacumming if she doesn't do anything worse than that! Hope it helps. Rewarding her has made a huge difference.
