I have the Sherpa carrier . . .they are pretty sturdy yet NOT hard plastic. If you google Sherpa carrier, you will get a whole lot of choices. I got one that fits about 6-8 pounds I think so Annika was quite comfortable in it (she's about 4.9 lbs).
