When I first saw and purchased Gidget (I paid upfront - my offer to do so). That was 2.5 weeks ago and it was a Monday. The breeder said she would let her go on Monday June 11. Gidget could have come to my home on the 8th, but breeder said she was going on a 2 week trip with her husband, so it would be the 11th.
I called breeder twice before she left and on the first call it was to ask what food Gidget was on and get other info so that I could make my home as close to what Gidget was used to before she came here.
The second call was before breeder was scheduled to leave. I had been reading a lot here and I wanted to go where the pups lived and see them in that environment and see how Gidget was progressing. Breeder did not return my call. I finally get through to her son, who tells me that his cousin, breeder's nephew is taking care of the pups and the pups parents. I call nephew. He lives an hour from here and I drive up to see the pups and take pictures. He was doing everything right. They were being cared for properly and it wasn't a puppy mill. There were four adult yorkies in the house and all were wonderful. The pups were frisky and well socialized. Turns out he has had them the whole time (since birth) and he was the one to take them to get their tails docked etc.
Nephew tells me that Gidget is ready to go now, but he needs to talk to his aunt first, get the papers etc, and aunt has not been returning his calls. He tells me she didn't leave on a Monday as she told me she was, but later in the week.
Breeder finally calls me this morning and informs me that she is at Mount Rushmore (CLEAR ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN A MOBILE HOME) and is not returning until the end of next week. She says the pups need their shots (actually they needed them last Friday) and she can't get it done until she returns. I tell her I am anxious to get my puppy ( I had a stay at home work week next week and wanted to do the first week adjustment while I had no other work). I told her I am willing to pick both pups from nephew and take them to her vet and get the shots done and put on breeders account. I say that I could do that on Monday 11th and then I'd like to take Gidget home as planned.
GET THIS: She tells me that she doesn't want to let Gidget go until she has had a chance to say goodbye so I have to wait until the end of next week when she returns from her vacation.
If she cares so much about this puppy, why has she been GONE for two weeks.
