All the yorkies I had, got very anxious in the car, even if it's a a short ride.
Kissie is not the exception. This morning, I took her to the grooming (15 mn distance). She was panting, crying and even if she was in the back seat, it made me feel so nervous to drive like this. I never couldn't take her to a long trip.
When I take care of my sister's dog, a very small chihuaha, she is in the car like an angel, she does'nt move and sleeps pleasantly. But my yorkie is normally very hyper and in the car, she becames very anxious.
