I don't think he is acting out or showing disrespect.

It definitely sounds like he developed a preference for going potty while on walks during those 10 days. Now, all the sudden, the rules have changed. He holds it and holds it waiting for that walk and then he just can't hold it anymore.

The easiest solution would be to walk him. Perhaps you could alter your schedule to accomodate those walks?

Otherwise, I recommend you go back to the basics. Watch him like a hawk, interrupt him when he tries to potty inappropriate place and take him to the correct place. Reward, reward, reward when he does get it right.
